About This Project

This project is a 4.2MWe Biogas fuelled power station at Melbourne Water’s Werribee Sewerage treatment works. SDAE was appointed EPC contractor by AGL Energy Services.

SDAE designed and commissioned a specially designed acoustic building with free standing generators in individual cells and a separate control room as well as a workshop and spare bay for future generator upgrades.

SDAE’s scope included all civils and buildings, pumping station, scrubbing towers and reticulation system, (Biogas is pumped from the sewerage lagoons, passed through the gas scrubbing system to remove H2S and then reheated and used to fuel the engines).

The entire plant is designed for unmanned operation, is fully automated and has remote monitoring.
